 why we need mitochondrial gene therapy?       

            ➖Mitochondria are the energy-producing engines of a cell. These organelles contain their own set of genes, called mtDNA. When mitochondria don’t work properly, a variety of symptoms can result, which can make mitochondrial diseases difficult to recognize and diagnose. Some babies born with defective mitochondria die within months.

 What done in mitochondrial gene therapy ?

➖it is a new technique which defective mitochondria is carried by a woman is replaced with the healthy mitochondria of a donor.➖ by using IVF technology  woman's egg is then fertilised with the partner’s sperm. It uses to free from genetic disease
